The Coaching Process · Neurodiverse City Connection
Your Goal Begins
as a Seed
A story about growing into yourself — roots, storms, and all — in the city you belong to.
Follow the Journey of The City Tree
Stage 1
The Seed
Every coaching journey begins with a seed — an idea, a hope, or a challenge someone wants to work on. At this stage, the seed may feel small, uncertain, or buried under stress. But every meaningful change starts with a moment of possibility.

Your seeds might sound like:
"I want to create a system for my homework."
"I want to feel confident advocating at my child's IEP/504 meetings."
"I want to unmask and live as my authentic self."
"I want to make new friends and expand my social circle."
"I want to date with more confidence, but I don't know how."

Stage 2
Planting the Seed:
The Coach Arrives
The coach's first role is to help find the right place to plant. Not every seed grows in the same soil. Together, you'll explore the conditions that help your specific brain thrive.

This means taking time to understand your strengths, your obstacles, your history, and your goals — before a plan is ever made.
Identifying goals
Exploring strengths
Understanding obstacles
Creating a growth plan
Finding the right soil
Stage 3
The Roots:
Deep Work Begins
The most important growth is invisible. Roots spread underground — tangled, complex, imperfect. This is where the real coaching work happens, beneath the surface, before anything is visible to the outside world.
Think of Tree roots in the ground — they don't grow in a perfect straight line. They curve around rocks, double back, and tangle. Your growth works the same way. Setbacks, slow weeks, and zigzags are all part of the process, not signs that something is wrong
Self-understanding
Executive function strategies
Communication tools
Mindset shifts
Unlearning old expectations
Building systems that fit you

Stage 4
Breaking Ground:
The Trunk Rises
With roots established, something visible finally begins. The trunk pushes up through the soil — slow at first, then stronger. This is the client doing the work, session by session, day by day.

The trunk is built from every small action taken between sessions. Every strategy practiced. Every moment of choosing growth over old habits. The coach sees this. The coach holds it, even when the client can't yet.

This is where the 90% lives.
Stage 5
Every Tree
Faces storms
Growth is not a straight line. The weather turns. This is not a sign of failure — it is a sign that you are growing in a real environment, not a protected greenhouse.

When storms come, the coach does not disappear. This is exactly when the coaching relationship becomes most important.
Setbacks
Overwhelm
Burnout
Old habits returning
Unexpected life stress
When the storm comes, we help you bend — not break.

The Partnership
You do the growing.
We help create the conditions.
Every Tree
Faces a Storm
Growth comes primarily from the tree itself. The client does the work — takes the steps, practices the strategies, keeps growing between sessions. The coach provides something smaller, but often essential.
90%
The Client
The steps taken. The strategies practiced. The growth that happens between sessions.
10%
The Coach
The missing sunlight. The right question. The validation that unlocks everything else.
"Our coaches don't grow the tree — you do. We simply help create the conditions where growth becomes possible."
The Destination
A Beautiful, Thriving Tree
in the City
The seed you planted — that uncertain, hopeful goal — has grown into something strong, lush, and entirely your own. You are rooted. You are branching. Your leaves are like no one else's.

And you are growing in the city. Not despite it — in it. Surrounded by other trees, a community of people who understand. The roots that once seemed tangled are what keep you standing when the seasons change.
The storms will still come. But now you know your roots. You know how to lean on your coach, your network, your own hard-won strength.
"There is no single way to grow. Your tree is yours."

Always Growing
Growth Never Truly Stops
Growth doesn't stop when coaching does. Here's what you can expect:

→ Some seasons will feel energized and full
→ Some seasons will feel slow or hard
→ Both are a normal part of growth

When a hard season comes, you won't be starting over. You'll have your roots — your self-knowledge, your strategies, your support network — to come back to.
