Hello, I'm Katie Black!

I’m passionate about supporting neurodivergent children, young adults, and their families as they build confidence, independence, and meaningful connections. At Neurodiverse City Connection, I provide neurodivergent-affirming, strengths-based coaching that helps individuals embrace their strengths, navigate challenges, and work toward the goals that matter most to them. My background as a speech-language pathologist has given me valuable experience supporting communication and social connection, which I bring to my coaching work with a collaborative and individualized approach.

What kind of clients do you work with?

Many of my clients are looking for support as they navigate social relationships, increasing independence, employment, or other life transitions. They may be working toward greater confidence, stronger self-advocacy, meaningful connections, or simply a better understanding of themselves.

I especially enjoy working with adolescents and young adults who want to build confidence, advocate for themselves, and create genuine relationships while working toward their personal and professional goals. I also love partnering with parents and caregivers, helping them better understand and navigate school systems, including IEPs and 504 plans, so they feel empowered to advocate for their child with confidence.

What is your coaching style like?

I believe every person is unique, and that means coaching should be too. My approach is neurodivergent-affirming, strengths-based, and individualized, focusing on the whole person. Together, we'll identify your strengths, explore strategies that work for your life, and create realistic steps toward the goals that matter most to you. As someone with ADHD, I understand firsthand that every individual's experience is unique. I prioritize building genuine, trusting relationships with my clients and strive to create a supportive, collaborative environment. By integrating both my personal perspective and professional expertise, I provide a personalized, holistic approach that is tailored to each client's unique strengths, challenges, and goals. I strive to create a supportive, encouraging space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable showing up as your authentic self. My role is to help you build confidence, achieve your goals, and develop the tools you need to thrive.

What is your goal working as a neurodivergent-affirming life coach?

My goal is to help neurodivergent individuals feel confident in who they are and empowered to build the life they want. I'm passionate about helping my clients achieve their goals, advocate for themselves, and develop meaningful relationships while recognizing and embracing their unique strengths. Throughout my work as a speech-language pathologist, I've supported clients and their families as they navigated important life transitions, gained independence, and celebrated personal successes. As a coach, I hope to continue that work by providing the knowledge, strategies, and encouragement that allow my clients to feel capable, confident, and supported every step of the way.
